Callahan, who has been Chief Administrative Officer since 2011, led the integration of Wells Fargo and Wachovia in the largest U.S. bank merger in history. Among her many key leadership positions, Callahan headed Compliance and Enterprise Risk Management and started the Corporate Social Responsibility function in 2008. She also has led Human Resources and Wholesale Banking Systems.

"Pat is a tremendous leader who exemplifies our values and our vision of helping customers succeed financially," said CEO John Stumpf. "She leaves an indelible mark on our company. In her new role, Hardison, a 22-year veteran of Wells Fargo, will lead the Chief Administrative Office (CAO) that includes Corporate Communications, Government and Community Relations, and Enterprise Marketing. Human Resources will become part of CAO and continue to be led by Hardison.

Hardison has led HR since 2010 and was promoted to report to CEO John Stumpf in 2014. She previously held leadership positions in Finance, Strategic Planning, and Compensation. She is based in San Francisco.

"Hope has done an outstanding job leading our HR team and has deep passion for Wells Fargo's culture, brand and reputation," Stumpf said. "She is known throughout Wells Fargo for her strong leadership and commitment to team members and brings extensive experience and continuity to the role."
