BroadSoft, Inc. (NASDAQ: BSFT) today announced it has acquired mPortal, enabling BroadSoft's global telecommunications service provider customers to deliver customizable unified communications (UC) experiences to a wide range of business end-users across different market segments. mPortal, based in McLean, Virginia, designs and develops customer experiences across mobile, web and other connected devices. mPortal's mobile-centric design and development capabilities will provide the foundation for BroadSoft Design -- which allows service providers and enterprises to customize and differentiate UC solutions built around BroadSoft's UC-One solution. "It is increasingly clear that a 'one size fits all' strategy for delivering unified communications is insufficient for meeting the superior and differentiated end-user experiences that businesses demand," said Scott Hoffpauir, chief technology officer, BroadSoft. "The mPortal acquisition and launch of BroadSoft Design reaffirms our commitment of simplifying how our customers sell, deliver and support UC services, innovating to give service providers a competitive market advantage and accelerating market adoption of unified communications through a superior end-user experience." BroadSoft UC-One® is a full unified communications experience that makes UC services and other business applications available on a single user interface. With BroadSoft Design, service providers can now deliver personalized services to a wide range of market segments (micro-business, mid-market, large enterprise), verticals (hospitality, education, government, retail, healthcare), and devices (smartphones, tablets, desktops, etc.). "By joining forces with BroadSoft, mPortal's vision to focus on creating compelling user experiences as a way for businesses to differentiate themselves in the marketplace receives a huge push to the future. BroadSoft Design is the perfect platform to expand our existing solutions, as well as address a larger, global opportunity with BroadSoft's market reach," said DP Venkatesh, founder and chief executive officer, mPortal Inc., who will now lead the team as vice president, BroadSoft Design. BroadSoft Design is available to service providers delivering UC services with the BroadWorks® platform or via BroadCloud®, BroadSoft's fully-managed end-to-end service. The acquisition is expected to contribute approximately $7 to $8 million in incremental revenue in 2015. We expect it to be dilutive by approximately 2 to 3 cents to 2015 non-GAAP earnings per share and be accretive in 2016 on a non-GAAP basis.
