Samsung Electronics Co Ltd (OTC: SSNLF) on the global stage. The rivalry between the two is set to intensify with the recent release of Samsung's latest phone – the Galaxy S6, a competing product to Apple's latest iPhone 6 devices. So why is Samsung helping its rival?Bloomberg reported on Wednesday that Samsung created a standalone team of around 200 employees who will be working exclusively on screens for Apple products. The publication said the team at Samsung provides screens for iPads and MacBooks, but the company will also make Apple's A9 processor chips at its Gieheung plant in South Korea for the next iPhone model.Samsung is relying more on its display and semiconductor units and now counts Apple as its largest external customer for Samsung components. "This also suggests that Samsung Display will win screen orders from Apple, such as for the Apple Watch."
