FactSet reported Tuesday that U.S. M&A deal activity decreased by 5.7 percent in February with 938 announcements compared to 995 in January.

Aggregate M&A spending, however, increased in February with 45.8 percent more spent on deals compared to January.

 

U.S. private equity activity grew in February, up 10.1 percent from January. There were 98 private equity deals in February compared to 89 in January.


The aggregate base equity decreased, however, down by 69.9 percent to $4.8 billion from $16.0 billion in January.
