Twitter Inc (NYSE: TWTR) agreed to acquire the social media marketer Niche Project for undisclosed terms on Wednesday afternoon.The New York-based Niche was launched in 2013, and claims relationships with more than 100 brands and agencies.Twitter's project management director, Baljeet Singh, said Niche has been a "key partner" with both Twitter and the company's streaming video channel, Vine, over the past year. Niche's technology includes free, cross-platform analytics, as well as "connecting the creative community" with the major consumer brands, according to Singh.Twitter beat fourth-quarter expectations last week, but growth in users slowed during the recent period.Shares of Twitter closed Wednesday at $47.50, up more than 2 percent. Twitter was unchanged recently in the extended session.
