The Department of Defense announced 11 separate defense contracts last Friday, worth $284.6 million in total.

Among these were awards to five of the Pentagon's big traditional "hardware" defense contractors. (The deals are listed below.)

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) won a $57.5 million firm-fixed-price delivery order to supply the U.S. Navy with support equipment for maintaining E-2D Advanced Hawkeye airborne early warning aircraft.

Delivery is due January 2018.

General Dynamics Corporation (NYSE: GD), meanwhile, won a firm-fixed-price contract worth up to $26.2 million to supply the Navy with MK 46 MOD 2 Gun Weapon Systems for use in Littoral Combat Ship Mission modules and Close-In Gun Systems for DDG 1000 Zumwalt-class destroyers.

Delivery is due November 2016.

Boeing Co (NYSE: BA) won a $24.1 million firm-fixed-price delivery order to supply the Navy with various F/A-18 fighter jet plane parts through Dec. 31, 2017.

Lockheed Martin Corporation (NYSE: LMT) was awarded a $22.2 million contract modification, funding additional sustainment work on radar testing equipment for the U.S. Air Force's F-22 Raptor stealth fighters through December 31, 2017.

Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) won a $14.8 million cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to perform equipment training on PATRIOT air defense systems for the U.S Army through December 14, 2017.
