KBR Inc., a world leader in ammoniatechnology, announced today that it has been awarded the license andengineering contracts to perform front end engineering and design for apotential expansion of Mosaic's Ammonia Plant in St. James, La. KBR's "lean FEED" approach will debottleneck the plant and increaseMosaic's ammonia production capacity by 20 percent at their plantlocated on the banks of the Mississippi, just south of Baton Rouge.KBR's proprietary ammonia technology will be utilized to revamp andexpand the original KBR designed plant. Additionally, KBR will providethe basic engineering design and the FEED requirements necessary toproduce a final estimate prior to project approval. "This is a significant win for KBR and we are pleased to be able tosupport Mosaic with both our leading technology and our technical andproject delivery expertise," said Stuart Bradie, KBR President and CEO."We look forward to developing a broader relationship with Mosaicthrough successful execution." KBR has been involved in the licensing, design, engineering and/orconstruction of more than 230 ammonia plants worldwide. Expected revenue from the contract was included in the third quarter2014 backlog of unfilled orders for the Hydrocarbons segment. Thecontract value was not disclosed.
