Equinix,Inc. (Nasdaq: EQIX), the global interconnection and data center company,together with IBM today announced an agreement to provide enterprises directaccess to the full portfolio of cloud services from SoftLayer, an IBM Company,via the Equinix Cloud Exchange™ in nine markets worldwide spanning theAmericas, Europe and Asia Pacific. Equinix also announced Cloud Exchangeenhancements, including API functionality that makes it easier for serviceproviders to use a single interface to the Cloud Exchange, resulting inscalable, private and secure connections to their cloud services with nearreal-time provisioning. Equinix and SoftLayer previously partnered to offer customers direct cloudconnection inside Equinix International Business Exchange (IBX) data centersvia SoftLayer's Direct Link service, a dedicated network connection.
