Durham, NC, November 23, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Victor Dzau, M.D., Chancellor of the Duke University Health System, appointed Charles Stiefel as Vice Chair of the Board of Visitors and member of the 3-person Executive Committee. The Board of Visitors assists the chancellor for health affairs, senior vice chancellor for academic affairs, and the deans of the School of Medicine and School of Nursing in developing and achieving long-range goals in the priority areas of medical research, patient care, and medical education.

Charles Stiefel, who lives in Raleigh, NC, is the former Chairman and CEO of Stiefel Laboratories, a pharmaceutical company that was acquired by Glaxo SmithKline in 2009 for $3.6 billion.
