Alere Applauds President's Executive Order Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria

WALTHAM, Mass., Sept. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Alere Inc. (NYSE: ALR), a global leader in rapid diagnostics, issued the following statement today in support of President Barack Obama's Executive Order Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria.

The Executive Order signed by the President yesterday directs Federal departments and agencies to implement a new national strategy to combat antibiotic-resistant bacteria and to address recommendations in a report by the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST).
