WINNIPEG, June 27, 2014 /CNW/ - The Board of Directors of Temple Hotels Inc. ("Temple") (TSX: TPH) is pleased to announce the appointment of Rod Marlin as Lead Director, effective July 1, 2014. Mr. Marlin has been on the board of Temple since March 20, 2007. Mr. Marlin is the executive chairman of Entrec Corporation (TSX: ENT). He was previously the chief executive officer and president of Entrec and has also served on the board of directors of Entrec since October 23, 2009. He was formerly a director and the president and chief executive officer of Eveready Inc. and its predecessor companies from 1995 until that company's acquisition by Clean Harbors, Inc. (NYSE: CLH) in July 2009. Following the acquisition, Mr. Marlin provided consulting services to Clean Harbors, Inc. until July 2010. Mr. Marlin now sits on the board of directors of Clean Harbors, Inc. Mr. Marlin was also the founder and president of Marlin Travel Group from its inception in 1967 to its sale in 1993.

The Board of Directors of Temple is also pleased to announce the appointment of Rosanne Hill Blaisdell as Chair of the Governance, Compensation & Nominating Committee, effective July 1, 2014. Ms. Hill Blaisdell has been on the board of Temple since inception on October 1, 2006. She is the managing director of Harvard Buildings Inc. and vice president of leasing for Harvard Developments Inc., a long-standing real estate company headquartered in Regina, Saskatchewan. She has held this position since 1997. Ms. Hill Blaisdell received her Masters of Business Administration from the University of Manitoba in 1991. Along with a commercial banking and investment management background, Ms. Hill Blaisdell holds a CCIM real estate designation. Ms. Hill Blaisdell has extensive real estate development and asset management experience, overseeing close to five million square feet of commercial office, retail and mixed use property, existing and under development in Western Canada. Ms. Hill Blaisdell is a member of the SaskPower business advisory committee and a member of the board of governors for St. Mary's University College.
