Carlyle Group LP (NASDAQ: CG) reported a rise in its fourth-quarter profit. Carlyle Group's quarterly profit surged to $71 million, or $1.17 per share, from a year-ago profit of $12 million, or $0.25 per share. Its economic net income came in at $576 million, or $1.64 per share, versus $182 million, or $0.47 per share, in the year-ago period. However, analysts were expecting an economic net income of $0.96 per share. Carlyle Group announced its plans to pay a dividend of $1.40 per share for the same quarter, versus $0.85 per share.Carlyle Group shares closed at $35.46 yesterday.
