Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co (NYSE: GT) reported a rise in its fourth-quarter profit. Goodyear's quarterly profit, before dividends, surged to $235 million, from $7 million, in the year-ago period. Excluding one-time items, it earned $0.74 per share, beating analysts' expectations of $0.62 per share. Its profit after dividends came in at $228 million or $0.84 per share. The company's operating profit in North America climbed 72% to $199 million versus $116 million, while operating profit in Europe jumped to $101 million versus $38 million.Goodyear shares gained 3.43% to $25.00 in pre-market trading.
