AMP (OTC: AMLTF) reported a 2% rise in its annual net profit. AMP's 2012 net profit climbed to 704 million Australian dollars (US$722 million), versus A$688 million, in the year-ago period. However, analysts were expecting a profit of A$687 million. Its underlying profit rose to A$955 million, from A$909 million. AMP announced its plans to pay a final dividend of 12.5 cents per share, versus 14 cents per share in 2011.
