The systems, which recently won the "Automated Retailing Excellence in Manufacturing Award" from Self Service News Magazine, were designed and built by AVT in collaboration with Rug Doctor, to allow customers to rent and return carpet-cleaning equipment without the need of employee assistance.

The report also stated that the world market for intelligent vending machines will more than quadruple over the next few years, from around 500,000 machines in 2012 to over 2 million systems in 2016.
