United Utilities Group PLC (OTC: UUGRY) reported an increase in its pretax profit for the six months ended September 30.United Utilities' underlying operating profit for the period fell to 315.7 million pounds, from GBP324.2 million, in the year-ago period.Its underlying pretax profit rose to GBP189.7 million from GBP184.9 million, while underlying earnings per share climbed to 20.9 pence from 19.9 pence. United Utilities' revenue surged to GBP822.9 million from GBP792.7 million, while pretax profit climbed to GBP135.6 million from GBP124.4 million.United Utilities shares closed at $21.31 yesterday.
