Xylem wins contract for major wastewater treatment plant in Brazil

Xylem (NYSE: XYL), a leading global water technology company focused onaddressing the world's most challenging water issues, has been awarded acontract to supply treatment technology and systems for a new wastewatertreatment plant in Brazil that will serve 60,000 people. Construction iscurrently underway with Xylem providing its Sanitaire® brand ICEAS(intermittent cycle extended aeration system) biological technology to treatwastewater in the city of Campo Grande in the Mato Grosso state of Brazil.The contract for the Imbirussu wastewater treatment plant was awarded by AguasGuariroba, part of the EQUIPAV Group, which operates public water treatmentfacilities in the Mato Grosso region of Brazil. Aguas Guariroba has investedmore than US$7million in the wastewater treatment plant, which will initiallyimprove wastewater effluent quality in 33 districts of Campo Grande.“Xylem's Sanitaire ICEAS solution is proving very popular in this region dueto its energy efficiency and compact footprint.
