Shutterfly, Inc. (NASDAQ: SFLY), a leading Internet-based social expression andpersonal publishing service, announced today that it has acquired PenguinDigital, Inc. (www.pengu.in), a mobile application developer that providesconsumers with a fun and easy way to create, share and purchase photomerchandise directly from their mobile devices.Penguin Digital launched an iPhone app in January 2012 called Mobile PhotoFactory or MoPho for short (www.mophoapp.com), which allows anyone to easilycreate physical prints and photo based merchandise such as iPhone & iPadcases, mugs, key chains, apparel, canvas prints and more. With MoPho, userscan access photos from their iPhone or their Facebook or Instagram accountsand create one-of-a-kind products and gifts while on the go. In addition tothe stand alone application, Penguin Digital has developed a SoftwareDevelopment Kit (“SDK”) that lets other app developers integrate printing ofphotos and the creation of photo based products into their own applications.
