Wharf (Holdings) Ltd (OTC: WARFY) reported a 65% surge in its first-half net profit.Wharf's net profit for the period climbed to 23.65 billion Hong Kong dollars (US$3.05 billion), versus HK$14.30 billion, in the year-ago period. Excluding one-time items, Wharf's core profit surged 49% to HK$5.43 billion versus HK$3.64 billion. Its revenue jumped 87% to HK$18.25 billion, versus HK$9.75 billion. Wharf also recommended a dividend of 45 Honk Kong cents per share for the first half, versus 36 Hong Kong cents per share.
