Q2 shipments for Apple's (NASDAQ: AAPL) iPad contributed to a better than expected quarter for the tablet market, according to IDC preliminary data. Total worldwide tablet shipments for Q2 2012 are estimated at 25 million units, a gain of 6.3 million or 33.6% from Q1 2012.Apple shipped 17 million iPads in Q2 2012, a gain of 5.2 million units from Q1.
