Neustar Awarded North American Numbering Contract for a Third Term

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has awarded Neustar (NYSE: NSR), the current North American Numbering Plan Administrator (NANPA), a new contract for an additional five-year term as a result of a competitive bidding process administered by the FCC. The new contract will continue through 2017. As the sole provider of this critical service, Neustar will continue to meet the needs of the telecommunications industry and the consumers they serve. “Neustar is honored to have once again been selected by the FCC to serve as the NANPA. NANPA is responsible for the management of the integrated telephone numbering plan that serves 20 North American countries, coordinating area code relief planning and the collection of service provider utilization and forecast data.
