Canada's Bankers Petroleum Ltd (OTC: BNKJF) reported a drop in its first-quarter profit.Bankers Petroleum's quarterly net income dropped 31% to $7.8 million, or 3.1 cents per share, versus $11.2 million, or 4.4 cents per share, in the year-ago period. Its income tax expense surged to $17.6 million from $9.5 million.Bankers Petroleum's oil revenue jumped 41% to C$102.7 million. Sales volume rose 12% to 13,279 barrels of oil per day.Bankers Petroleum shares closed at $3.47 on Friday.
