Sanofi SA (NYSE: SNY) reported a 50% rise in its first-quarter net profit. Sanofi's net profit attributable to shareholders climbed to EUR1.83 billion, from EUR1.22 billion in the year-ago period. Its business net income climbed to EUR2.44 billion, versus estimates of EUR2.18 billion. Sanofi's sales jumped more than 9% to EUR8.51 billion.Sanofi shares closed at $37.74 yesterday.
