Australian wholesale prices declined in the first quarter of 2012, versus the fourth quarter of 2011. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the producer price index dropped 0.3% in the first quarter versus the fourth quarter of 2011. However, the index gained 1.4% y/y. Economists were expecting a 0.4% increase over the quarter.
