The Babcock & Wilcox Company (NYSE: BWC) announced today that its subsidiary Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group, Inc. has been awarded a contract to engineer, procure and construct environmental control systems for three units at Ascend Performance Materials' Decatur, Ala. manufacturing plant. B&W will design, supply and install three selective non-catalytic reduction (SNCR) systems for nitrogen oxides control and an industrial baghouse for particulate emissions control. The project scope also includes foundations, structural steel and construction services for the approximately $20 million project. The upgrade will help Ascend's Decatur facility meet the State of Alabama's Best Available Retrofit Technology (BART) environmental standards.
