Carrefour SA (OTC: CRERF) reported a 0.9% rise in its first-quarter sales including value added tax and excluding fuel. Sales came in at 22.5 billion euros ($30 billion) for the group as a whole, down 0.1% on a comparable basis. Carrefour's sales in Europe excluding France dropped 2.7% excluding fuel and fell 3.8% on a comparable basis. Its sales climbed 8.6% in Latin America on a comparable basis. However sales in Asia declined 4.3% on a comparable basis.Carrefour shares closed at $21.02 yesterday.
