Universal Electronics Inc. (NASDAQ: UEIC), a global leader in wirelesscontrol technology for the connected home, announced it has filed a lawsuit inthe United States District Court for the Central District of Californiaagainst Universal Remote Control, Inc. for patent infringement. UniversalElectronics seeks an injunction in addition to monetary damages.In this lawsuit, Universal Electronics asserts infringement by UniversalRemote Control of United States Patent No. 5,414,426, entitled "Favorite KeyMacro Command and Chained Macro Command in a Remote Control;" United StatesPatent No. 5,568,367, entitled "Remote Control with Key Lighting;" UnitedStates Patent No. 5,614,906, entitled "Method For Selecting a Remote ControlCommand Set;" and United States Patent No. 6,587,067 B2, entitled "UniversalRemote Control with Macro Command Capabilities.”
