Calgon Carbon Corporation (NYSE: CCC) announced that its subsidiary, Hyde Marine, Inc., has been awarded a contract to supply a total of six Hyde GUARDIAN® Ballast Water Treatment Systems for two LR2 Aframax tankers being constructed by the SPP shipyard in South Korea for ship owner OSG. The value of the contract was not disclosed. Hyde GUARDIAN employs a chemical-free process that combines filtration with ultraviolet disinfection to treat the ballast water of a ship to prevent the spread of invasive species.
