Digium®, Inc., the Asterisk® Company, today announced that it has received a 2011 Enterprise App Award from CRN for mobile applications that extend its Switchvox unified communications (UC) solution. Also known as “The Appys,” CRN's inaugural Enterprise App Awards were presented to the top mobile apps for business, recognizing outstanding achievement in driving enterprise IT into the palms of the market. Digium was one of only three companies to be honored out of more than 50 nominees.

Digium's mobile applications integrate with the company's Switchvox Voice over IP (VoIP) unified communications solutions to bring advanced functionality to small and mid-size businesses and their employees regardless of work location. With Switchvox Mobile applications, users can make, receive, transfer and record calls as if they were calling from their office extension, check messages, change call rules, modify recorded greetings, access a company directory, review call history and more. Switchvox Mobile applications run on the iPhone, Blackberry, Android phones and tablets.

“As more channel executives turn to tablet PCs and other mobile devices as their primary work machines, demand for information around mobile business continues to build,” said Kelley Damore, vice president and editorial director for UBM Channel. “At CRN, our solution provider readership is constantly on the lookout for the highest rated enterprise apps in the industry. That's why we created this award, to provide our audience with a short list of the most beneficial mobile applications in the channel. We congratulate this year's winners on their success, and applaud them for developing cutting-edge products to meet the ever-growing need for creative, functional mobile solutions in the channel.”

Leslie Conway, vice president of global marketing for Digium, commented: “The mobile workforce demands the same communications experience whether on the move or at the office. Switchvox offers fixed mobile convergence and complete mobile integration at no additional cost to our business customers. It's gratifying to receive this honor from CRN which further illustrates the tremendous value that Digium brings to its resellers and customers.”

CRN received more than 50 entrants from all areas of enterprise mobility, and selected only three winners based on their ability to fully maximize new mobile platforms, show new methods of delivering value, and overall innovation. The Enterprise App awards were presented on October 5th at the 2011 NexTI Conference at the Doral Resort in Miami.
