So much for WikiLeaks killing Bank of America (NYSE: BAC).According to an article from Reuters, some of the files that WikiLeaks had obtained on Bank of America files have been destroyed, according to a source close to Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks.Daniel Domscheit-Berg, who last year was fired by Assange as WikiLeaks' co-spokesman, emailed Reuters and said that he had destroyed "roundabout" 3,000 submissions WikiLeaks received. The documents were destroyed "in the interest of the security of sources." There were rumors late last year and early this year that WikiLeaks would destroy the Charlotte-based bank, as founder Assange said he had information that take down "a bank or two." Obviously that never came to materialize, and Assange's credibility further continues to get eroded with each passing day.At last check, shares of Bank of America were off more than 6% on the day on heavy volume.I suspect sooner rather than later, that WikiLeaks will be nothing more than a fading memory in a year or two. WikiLeaks will be talked about the way, ALF, Ronald Reagan, and music videos on MTV are. A distant memory from the past.
