USG Corporation (NYSE:USG), an industry-leading manufacturer of building products and innovative solutions, today announced a national partnership with leading global nonprofit Habitat for Humanity (Habitat). USG will work with Habitat affiliates across the United States to build homes for families in 15 cities where USG plants are located. This initiative is part of The USG Foundation's ongoing effort to improve lives in the communities where USG does business.

USG and its plants across the United States will donate funding, hundreds of volunteer hours and in-kind building materials to Habitat for Humanity. These resources will help create life-changing opportunities for those in need of decent housing.

"It is exciting to announce our partnership with Habitat for Humanity, which focuses on investing in our communities," said Jennifer Scanlon, president and chief executive officer of USG Corporation. "We are experts in manufacturing building products – but this partnership provides us an even more rewarding opportunity. We are able to create a more meaningful connection by working on jobsites in the neighborhoods where our employees live."

USG's first home construction project is underway in Tempe, Ariz. More than 100 members of USG's leadership team and representatives from Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona gathered at the jobsite location today for a special ceremony to commemorate the launch of the partnership. The ceremony was followed by a five-hour "Build" event with all participants rolling up their sleeves to construct a home for a local family in need.

Throughout 2018, USG employees will volunteer at Habitat Build days near 15 USG manufacturing locations, including:

  • Auburn, Wash.
  • Baltimore, Md.
  • Dallas
  • Detroit
  • Galena Park, Texas
  • Gypsum, Ohio
  • Jacksonville, Fla.
  • Otsego, Mich.
  • Phoenix
  • Plaster City, Calif.
  • Port Reading, N.J.
  • Shoals, Ind.
  • Sperry, Iowa
