Microchip Technology Incorporated (NASDAQ: MCHP), a leading provider of microcontroller, analog and Flash-IP solutions, today announced that its Board of Directors has declared a quarterly cash dividend on its common stock of 34.6 cents per share. The dividend is payable on June 2, 2011 to stockholders of record on May 19, 2011. Microchip initiated quarterly cash dividend payments in the third quarter of fiscal year 2003.“The cash flow from Microchip's business continues to be strong, and we ended fiscal 2011 with $1.7 billion in cash and investments on the balance sheet,” said Steve Sanghi, President and CEO. “The Board of Directors is pleased toannounce this increase in Microchip's quarterly dividend payment to our stockholders.”
