Year 2009 proved to be a good year for mutual funds. Barron's has come out with a list of top-performing mutual funds. According to the list, Putnam Investment Management clinched the top position followed by T. Rowe Price (NASDAQ: TROW). Aberdeen Asset Management, FAF Advisors and Nuveen Asset Management were also included in the list. Recovery in the financial markets was the main driver behind these mutual funds growth. Other big names included in the list were Legg Mason (NYSE: LM), Janus (NYSE: JNS) and Invesco (NYSE: IVZ). Thus the year has been marked with good mutual funds performance on account of solid performance by financial markets.
