UPDATE: Williams-Sonoma Posts 10% Rise In FQ2 Profit, Lifts Full-Year Forecast

Williams-Sonoma (NYSW: WSM) reported a 10% rise in its fiscal second quarter profit. Williams-Sonoma now expects full-year adjusted profit of $2.44 to $2.51 per share, versus its earlier forecast of $2.42 to $2.49 per share. The company expects current-quarter earnings of $0.43 to $0.46 per share, on revenue of $905 million to $925 million. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.43 per share on revenue of $913 million. Williams-Sonoma's quarterly profit climbed to $43.4 million, or $0.43 per share, versus $39.3 million, or $0.37 per share, in the year-ago period. Its revenue climbed 7.3% to $874.3 million. Williams-Sonoma in May had expected earnings of $0.38 to $0.41 per share, on revenue of $850 million to $870 million. Its total same-store sales surged 7.4%. Williams-Sonoma shares jumped 9.08% to $41.70 in after-hours trading.
