China's Exports Rise In January

China posted a rise in exports in January, according to official customs data. China's exports surged 25% y/y, versus a 14.1% y/y rise in December. The country's imports climbed 28.8%, versus a 6% rise in the previous month. However, analysts were expecting a 17.7% rise in exports and a 21.4% gain in imports. The country's trade surplus for January declined to $29.2 billion, from $31.6 billion in December. However, economists were expecting a surplus of $26.6 billion.
