Top Chefs Choose Their Favorite Fast Food

Everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion when it comes time to indulge in a fast-food guilty pleasure. Maybe you prefer McDonald’s Corporation MCD fries, while your significant other prefers Nachos Bell Grande from Yum! Brands, Inc. YUM’s Taco Bell.

Bloomberg’s Richard Vines set out to interview some of the world’s top chefs to ask them where they prefer to get their fast-food fix. Here’s a sampling of what some of the experts had to say:

  • Massimo Bottura (Osteria Francescana, Moderna, Italy): Shake Shack Inc SHAK

“They care about the ingredients and that it what makes the difference.”

  • Hélène Darroze (Hélène Darroze, Paris): Shake Shack

“They serve beautiful burgers and hot dogs with amazing quality of bread and meat.”

“I treat myself to Popeyes a couple of times a year and I am wickedly happy downing a few pieces (wings and thighs best) of their crispy, spicy chicken — with a side of dirty rice and biscuits. Or I’m completely satisfied making a lunch of a salad from Chipotle, loaded with grilled chicken, pinto beans, shredded cheese, extra cilantro and spicy dressing.”

  • Karam Sethi (Gymkhana, London): KFC

    “The chicken is always juicy.”

  • Wolfgang Puck“With our burger, you eat the meat. With theirs, you eat the condiments.”
