Oppenheimer has released a report on the Software/Technology industry. According to the report, Microsoft (NASDAQ:
MSFT) has increased the headcount of its sales force by 300-500 for its cloud computing offerings. The sales force will engage with customers directly and with Microsoft partners. Microsoft has also released its Office 2010 suite for the retail market.
In other company news, Constant Contact (NASDAQ:
CTCT) has released an improved version of its event marketing solution with integrated ticketing, guest registration, event currency and other functionalities.
Oracle (NASDAQ:
ORCL) is facing a lawsuit for overcharging the government and not extending the discount it extends to other commercial customers.
IBM (NYSE:
IBM) has entered an agreement to buy Coremetrics, a web analytics company.
