New Investing Vehicle: This Series Exists Solely to Hold Shares of Fortnite Creator Epic Games…Here’s How You Get In

This offering is for membership interest in Series 1-1 (“Series Epic Games”) which will own common shares of Epic Games, Inc. Epic Games is not participating or involved in this offering. You are not buying Epic Games shares directly. See full details in footnote 1.

The gaming industry is colossal. For perspective, 2022 film revenues clocked in at $77 billion globally, meanwhile, the music industry earned $31.2 billion. Gaming on the other hand? Its revenues doubled those of film and music combined at a staggering $217 billion. That’s the kind of industry a lot of investors might want to crack into. But one of the leaders in the space, Fortnite creator Epic Games, is sadly private. Enter StartEngine…

The startup investing platform has unveiled a new Series LLC that exists solely to hold shares of Epic Games. Due to regulations around this type of investment vehicle, space in the Series is limited to a maximum of 100 accredited investors. So for your best shot at getting in, you’ll want to join the waitlist.

Epic Games

In 2017, Epic Games released Fortnite, causing such a massive disruption in the gaming world that franchises with millions of players had to adapt. Through constant actionable innovation within the game, it has maintained an immense player base throughout the years and now boasts an army of 350 million players across multiple platforms.

But the company isn’t placing all of its eggs into one basket. Epic Games also owns Unreal Engine, a graphics platform used widely across gaming, film, television and other mediums. More recently, it threw its hat in the game-selling ring and came out with Epic Game Store, a platform that could rival Steam for its $8.56 billion market share.

Across all of its products and services, Epic Games has earned an estimated $5.62 billion in 2023. Statista predicts a further $400 million will be added to the company’s bottom line by 2025. The company’s partnerships with the biggest names in the entertainment industry will help it reach that estimate.

The Walt Disney Co, Sony Group Corp., The Lego Group, and Tencent all own multibillion-dollar stakes in the company and have established partnerships with Epic Games – potentially opening avenues for yet more new users.
