AstraZeneca Sharply Higher Off Positive Data For Imfinzi

AstraZeneca plc (ADR) AZN shares are trading higher by $2.33 (8 percent) at $33.45 in Friday's session.

The catalyst for the rally is the announcement that its drug, Imfinzi, has met primary endpoint for the treatment of lung cancer.

After a much higher open, AstraZeneca had only a 3-cent retreat to $33.17 before continuing its move higher. So far, the ensuing rally has taken the stock to $34.03, but has fallen back into the mid $33.00 handle.

The current high coincides with its September 28 high of $34.09.
