Kroger Co (NYSE: KR) shares are trading lower by $1.23 at $30.84 in Thursday's session.

Despite a Q4 EPS beat of a penny along with a revenue beat of $300 million, the Street is attempting to digest its lower Q1 guidance ($0.55-$0.59), which may not compare with $0.70 estimates.

After a lower open, Kroger's stock bottomed in the first few minutes of the session at $30.26 and began to move higher. That low matches its October 19 low of $30.26.

The rebound off that depressed level has taken the issue to $31.38, which is just shy of the lower end of Wednesday's range ($31.68). Since making that high, the issue has been struggling to remain in the $31.00 handle.
