Del Taco Restaurants Inc TACO shares are trading higher by $1.30 (8.5 percent) at $13.93 in Tuesday's session. The Street is applauding its Q3 beat of a penny along with nearly $3 million more in sales.
The issue, which has grinded higher since June when it bottomed just above its 2016 low ($8.37) at $8.43, climbed into the $14 handle today, reaching $14.25 before falling back to the $14 area.
That high comes in between its October 19, 2015 high ($14.01) and its October 20, 2015 high ($14.56). It hasn't closed at $14 or higher since September 30, 2015, when it ended the session at $14.00.
Today's price action is taking place on much heavier than average volume. With over four hours remaining in the session, 2.4 million shares have traded compared with its 20-day average of 425,000.
