Amtech Systems Up Double-Digits After $22 Million Solar Order

Shares of Amtech Systems, Inc. ASYS, a manufacturer of capital equipment for fabricating solar cells, LED and semiconductor devices, were trading higher by more than 11 percent on Thursday.

Amtech Systems announced that it received approximately $22 million worth of new solar orders. The company noted that the majority of the orders came from a "top tier" solar cell manufacturer in Asia.

Amtech Systems noted that it will ship the new order within the next six to nine months.

"We continue to work closely with current and future customers on their solar cell manufacturing needs and believe we are well positioned to bring high value to our customers through our product and technology offerings," Fokko Pentinga, Amtech's CEO said in the company's press release. "We are experiencing a healthy start to our fiscal 2016 year with the approximately $22 million in solar orders received to date."
