Ballard Power Shares Strongly Outperform Other Fuel-Cell Stocks

There was one clear winner in the fuel-cell group Monday: Ballard Power Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: BLDP).

The stock rallied some 15 percent to a session high at $1.59 -- all while peers in the space, Plug Power Inc (NASDAQ: PLUG) and FuelCell Energy Inc (NASDAQ: FCEL), fell about 3 percent and 4 percent, respectively.

Volume seemed in-line with this action. Ballard Power traded about four times normal full-day volume; both Plug Power and FuelCell traded a number of shares, which were under their average daily shares traded.

A news-related justification for the price action in the fuel-cell sector could not be found.
