SAP And Microsoft Align To Speed Up Cloud Digital Transformation

SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) and Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT) revealed Tuesday about their joint plans to deliver wider support for the SAP HANA platform deployed on Microsoft Azure. According to the companies, the move would simplify work through new integrations between Microsoft Office 365 and cloud solutions from SAP. It would also improve management and security for custom SAP Fiori apps.

SAP and Microsoft made the announcement at the 28th annual SAPPHIRE NOW conference. Both the companies CEO would discuss the expanded alliance, which would help the two firms use the cloud to fuel innovation, agility and allow fresh ways to work.

Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella, talked about the alliance and said, "At Microsoft, we are focused on empowering organizations to advance their digital transformations. Together with SAP, we are bringing new levels of integrations between our products that provide businesses with enhanced collaboration tools, new insights from data and a hyper-scale cloud to grow and seize new opportunities ahead."

Similarly, SAOP CEO, Bill McDermott, reacted, "We believe the IT industry will be shaped by breakthrough partnerships that unlock new productivity for customers beyond the boundaries of traditional platforms and applications. SAP and Microsoft are working together to create an end-user experience built on unprecedented insight, convenience and agility. The certification of Microsoft Azure's infrastructure services for SAP HANA along with the new integration between Microsoft Office 365 and cloud solutions from SAP are emblematic of this major paradigm shift for the enterprise."

The two companies also indicated that at SAPPHIRE NOW, both would showcase number of integrations between Office 365 and cloud solutions from SAP. The two firms indicated that these new capabilities would be available commencing from the third quarter of the current year. There would also be plans to introduce additional integration features in the future.
