Nothing is confirmed, but if rumors are to be believed, Apple Inc. AAPL plans to close Beats Music in the future.

TechCrunch on Monday reported the streaming service will be shut down and cited five different sources, "including several prominent employees at Apple and Beats."

The company has since denied the rumor.

Beats Music had an estimated 111,000 registered accounts in May, according to The Guardian. Apple iTunes had 575 million users last year.
