In a blog post, Mozilla officially took the wraps off of a Firefox app for tablet devices. The web browser is based off Firefox on smartphones, except this app takes advantage of a tablet's larger display.

Mozilla states that Firefox for Tablets fits in, design wise, with Android OS 3.0 (a.k.a. "Honeycomb"), including Firefox's "signature big back button and a distinctive tab shape." In addition, Firefox's "Awesomebar" is included in this tablet version of the web browser - the bar includes easy access to bookmarks, history, and synced desktop activity. Tabs have been moved to the left side of the screen for easier access as well.

When the tablet is in landscape mode, all of your open tabs will be available in a menu on the left-hand side of the device. When switching to portrait mode, the tabs will be hidden in a menu item at the top of the screen.

No possible release date was given at this time.
