Arise Virtual Solutions CEO John Meyer and API Global Resources CEO James Butts laid out the
benefits
of optimizing a talented support staff through the flexibility  of working online from home, which they see benefitting both the employer and employees, on Bloomberg TV's Money Moves on Monday.  "They have total freedom for work-life balance. They have the opportunity to work when they want to work. We require them to work 15 to 20 hours a week, but if they want to work 15 hours straight? We'd say 'Okay, go ahead and do that.' So they pick the hours of when they want to work. They find, um, the costumer that they would like to support, and that they have a brand affiliation to, and then they build off of that," said Meyer. "And so many of our people have joined from military, they've been students, um, they've been retirees, and they've discovered us as an opportunity to provide a little bit of extra income to a faltering 401k or ah, you know, pay for their student, student loans and things at the same time."

Arise acts as a a giant virtual call center that outsources work to employees who are based at home, toting a staff 25,000 employees that range from sales to technical support positions. API Global Resources works in the same territory.  Butts noted that college kids in particular don't always have the time in their schedules to get jobs at local malls and other places. "They can be studying and do their homework as well as work," said Butts, including that they can help take care of themselves, and maybe even earn some party money.  Both believe that the discipline of dedication and commitment are essential in allowing their employees to be successful. If someone doesn't show up, they simply don't renew their contract.
