Multi-Year Deals Span 21 NBC Affiliates, Serving Nearly 7 Million US Television Households
Sinclair and NBC today announced a comprehensive, multi-year agreement that renews station affiliation agreements for all 21 of Sinclair's owned and/or operated NBC affiliates, with the stations reaching nearly 7 million U.S. TV households.
The agreement consists of renewals for the following NBC affiliates: WOAI/San Antonio, TX; KSNV/Las Vegas, NV; WJAR/Providence, RI; WNWO/Toledo, OH; WSTM/Syracuse, NY; WCYB/Tri-Cities, TN-VA; WTWC/Tallahassee, FL; WJAC/Johnstown- Altoona, PA; WPBN and WTOM/Traverse City-Cadillac, MI; KCFW and KECI/Missoula, MT; WTOV/Wheeling-Steubenville, OH; and KTVM and KDBZ-CD/Butte-Bozeman, MT.
The NBC affiliations were also renewed by Sinclair partners in five markets that Sinclair provides sales and other services to under a joint sales agreement or master service agreement: Cunningham Broadcasting Group, the licensee of KRNV/ Reno, NV; Deerfield Media, the licensee of WPMI/Mobile-Pensacola, FL; Howard Stirk Holdings, the licensee of WEYI/Flint-Saginaw-Bay City, MI; MPS Media, the licensee of WNBW/Gainesville, FL, and Roberts Media, the licensee of KMTR, KMCB and KTCW in Eugene, OR.

On the first episode of Deviate To Win, SpringOwl Asset Management Founder and CEO Jason Ader spoke with Soo Kim, the chairman of Bally&#39;s Corp (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/baly#NYSE">BALY</a>) and founding partner of the hedge fund Standard General.&nbsp;
<h3>Background On Bally&rsquo;s And Standard General</h3>
Standard General has initiated massive changes since taking a stake in the casino&mdash;then known as Twin River&mdash;in 2016, and has since become its largest shareholder. In 2019, Kim was named chairman of the board.&nbsp;
That same year, the company completed a reverse merger with Dover Downs Gaming &amp; Entertainment, which took the company public. In 2020, the company went on a shopping spree.&nbsp;
First, they paid $51 million for three Colorado casinos from Affinity Gaming. This was followed by acquisitions in New Jersey, Louisiana, Nevada, Missouri, Mississippi, and Illinois. In October, the company paid $20 million to buy the Bally&rsquo;s trademark from Cesear&rsquo;s Entertainment and rebranded all its properties under the Bally brand.&nbsp;
In November, Bally&rsquo;s paid $125 million for Bet.Works, a U.S. sports betting platform, which the company said will enable it to scale its online sports betting offerings.&nbsp;
Bally also reached a naming rights deal with Sinclair Broadcast Group (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/sgbi#NASDAQ">SGBI</a>), and in April the company&rsquo;s regional sports networks were rebranded as &ldquo;Bally Sports.&rdquo;
In the episode, Kim discusses what led to those transactions, and how each of them fit into the long-term vision for Bally&rsquo;s.&nbsp;
&ldquo;We wanted to be the first gaming company that essentially disruptiveness ourselves, essentially willing to put our casinos on the line so that we can embrace an online future because we felt that in the end, the online future was was was bright and ultimately it didn&#39;t harm the physical casinos, but was this amazing compliment that added a lot of growth to it,&rdquo; he said.&nbsp;

Nielsen Holdings (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/nlsn#NYSE">NLSN</a>) shares are trading higher on Thursday, after the company announced <a href="https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/nielsen-and-sinclair-broadcast-group-announce-multi-year-agreement-301033844.html">a renewal </a>in its multi-year deal with Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc. (Nasdaq: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/sgbi#Nasdaq">SGBI</a>) for all of Sinclair&#39;s 191 local TV stations, 89 markets&nbsp;and 22 sports brands.
The agreement includes Nielsen Scarborough, Ad Intel, Arianna and Grabix and Digital in TV ratings measurement in select markets and platforms.
Nielsen is an American information, data and measurement firm which&nbsp;operates in over 100 countries and employs approximately 44,000 people worldwide.
Nielsen shares were trading up 6.07% at $12.58 on Thursday. The stock has a 52-week high of $27.28 and a 52-week low of $11.62.

Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/sbgi#NASDAQ">SBGI</a>) revealed that its fully-owned subsidiary, Sinclair Television Group, Inc., has received an extension of the maturity date of some loans apart from commitments under its existing bank credit facility until July 31, 2021.
 
	Sinclair unit indicated it was able to get the extension of the maturity date of 80.3% of its pro rata commitments under its revolving credit facility, as well as term A loans to July 31, 2021 from April 9, 2018. The company indicated that the amount comprised of $485.2 million in revolving credit commitments and $139.5 million of term loan A loans.

	According to the company, the remaining $153.5 million of outstanding term A loans would mature April 9, 2018. The company added that extending lenders have also agreed to a reduction in some pricing terms in connection with the Loans based on satisfying some covenant ratios.

	The stock shed 0.79 percent on Tuesday.
