In his tweet, Cardone voiced his frustration with the U.S. tax system. He even threw out the idea of making taxes zero, referencing Donald Trump&#8217;s proposals. Cardone&#8217;s point was that Americans are overtaxed and much of the money we give the government is wasted. He highlighted that beyond regular income taxes, we face taxes when we spend, invest, gift money and even die – all while the government continues printing more cash.
Cardone's argument echoes some of the broader frustrations shared by others in the financial world. People wonder why we need to keep giving a large chunk of our hard-earned income when, seemingly, the government can just hit &#8220;print&#8221; whenever it wants.
This concept relates to remarks made recently by President-elect Donald Trump regarding eliminating federal income taxes and replacing them with tariffs. Trump supposedly wants to shift the tax burden to goods created in other countries. He suggests that a 10% tariff on all imports or a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/24/11/42028954/peter-thiel-says-trumps-60-china-tariff-would-be-very-very-bad-for-beijing-heres-whats-at-stake">60% tariff on Chinese imports</a> could help fund the government instead of taxing regular Americans&#8217; income.&nbsp;

But experts say that while tariffs could bring in some money, it wouldn&#8217;t be enough to replace income taxes. Also, tariffs tend to increase prices for shoppers, which doesn&#8217;t help people in the way they might hope.
According to <a href="https://taxfoundation.org/blog/trump-tariffs-revenue-estimates/">estimates</a> from the Tax Foundation, a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/government/24/11/41828468/trump-says-hed-replace-income-taxes-with-tariffs-the-potential-economic-fallout">universal tariff of 10% would generate $2 trillion</a> over 10 years, while a tariff of 20% might generate $3.3 trillion. However, that&#8217;s still far less than the current revenue from income taxes, which means the government would either need to cut major expenses, like health care or Social Security or go into debt. Economists warn that this shift could hurt economic growth, cause job losses and worsen income inequality. The FDA has granted Fast Track designation for elritercept for very low-, low- and intermediate-risk MDS.
Myelodysplastic syndromes and myelofibrosis are characterized by inadequate blood cell production, often leading to severe anemia.
Elritercept targets activin A and B proteins, which are believed to be crucial in anemia-associated diseases.
In early clinical studies, elritercept has shown promising clinical activity and a manageable safety profile in patients with very low-, low- and intermediate-risk myelodysplastic syndromes as a monotherapy and in patients with myelofibrosis&nbsp;in combination with standard of care.
Elritercept is currently in two ongoing Phase 2 trials for very low-, low- or intermediate-risk myelodysplastic syndromes and myelofibrosis&nbsp;patients.
The Phase 3 RENEW trial evaluating elritercept in adult patients with transfusion-dependent anemia with very low-, low- or intermediate-risk myelodysplastic syndromes&nbsp;will begin enrollment soon.
Takeda plans to evaluate elritercept in these cancers across patient segments and lines of therapy.
Takeda will pay Keros Therapeutics an upfront payment of $200 million and is eligible to receive milestones with the potential to exceed $1.1 billion. Keros will also be eligible to receive tiered <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/24/12/g42286091/keros-therapeutics-announces-global-license-agreement-with-takeda-to-advance-elritercept" rel="noreferrer noopener">royalties on net sales</a>.
William Blair writes that With Takeda taking responsibility for elritercept development, Keros (<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/KROS/analyst-ratings" rel="noreferrer noopener">Outperform rating</a>) will now have two wholly owned assets, including cibotercept in pulmonary arterial hypertension and KER-065 in obesity and neuromuscular indications, allowing Keros to narrow its focus.
The analyst notes that multiple offers for elritercept were received. Management believes that Takeda is aligned with its views on the broader opportunity for elritercept.

The company's earnings call addressed the concerns around the market for AEC, "with 3x 10% customers," including Microsoft Corp (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MSFT#NASDAQ">MSFT</a>), Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AMZN#NASDAQ">AMZN</a>) and Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) as well as "growing momentum in other adjacent areas (optical DSP, line card PHY, retimer)," the analyst stated.
Credo Technology is likely to generate robust results in the back half of fiscal 2025, "driven by strong AI growth at Amazon Web Services, a key customer (and investor)," he further wrote.
