Markets are bouncing Wednesday afternoon following the Federal Reserve&#8217;s decision to cut rates by 0.5%, marking the beginning of the central bank&#8217;s <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-ratings/analyst-color/24/09/40918078/is-the-fed-playing-with-fire-we-see-greater-risk-of-an-overheating-economy-as-they-">highly anticipated cutting cycle</a>.
What To Know: Wednesday&#8217;s&nbsp;0.5% rate cut brings the&nbsp;target fed funds rate&nbsp;to a new range&nbsp;between 4.75% and 5%, down from a 23-year high of 5.25% to 5.5%. It&#8217;s also the first rate cut since March 2020.
The fed funds rate has been sitting at a range between 5.25% and 5.5% since the central bank last hiked in July 2023.
The SPDR S&amp;P 500 (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SPY#NYSE">SPY</a>), which tracks the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/s-p-500">S&amp;P 500</a> index, was up 0.39% at last check, led higher by a variety of names like Arm Holdings Plc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ARM#NASDAQ">ARM</a>), The Trade Desk Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TTD#NASDAQ">TTD</a>) Toyota Motor Corp (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TM#NYSE">TM</a>), General Motors Co (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GM#NYSE">GM</a>) and Marriott International (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MAR#NASDAQ">MAR</a>).
The materials sector, as tracked by the Materials Select Sector SPDR Fund (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/XLB#NYSE">XLB</a>), was showing the most strength at the time of writing, climbing approximately 0.6% following the Fed decision. The energy sector, tracked by the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/XLE#NYSE">XLE</a>), was the weakest, down 0.3% following the rate cut. Energy stocks had performed well on Wednesday ahead of the Fed decision, which may explain some of the relative weakness in afternoon trading.

The increased volatility is likely a result of <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-ratings/analyst-color/24/09/40883274/senator-warren-urges-fed-to-slash-rates-by-0-75-veteran-investor-warns-even-0-5-cut">uncertainty heading into the meeting</a>. According to CME&#8217;s <a href="https://www.cmegroup.com/markets/interest-rates/cme-fedwatch-tool.html">FedWatch tool</a>, the market was projecting a 61% chance of a larger 0.5% rate cut heading into the meeting versus a 39% chance of a smaller 0.25% cut.
As reported by Benzinga, the updated quarterly Dot Plot, which helps signal the Fed&#8217;s future policy intentions, indicates a more aggressive path for rate cuts than previously projected following Wednesday&#8217;s 0.5% cut. The median projection now calls for a total of 1% in rate cuts in 2024.

The campaign, &#8220;Taste Your Own Medicine,&#8221; is a provocative challenge to pharmaceutical companies, daring them to use the very drugs they promote. 
This initiative taps into public outrage around the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cannabis/24/08/40291784/yale-experts-say-cannabis-could-help-solve-opioid-overdose-crisis-in-the-us">opioid crisis</a>.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">The Campaign </h3>
At the heart of the campaign is a 2.5-minute documentary-style <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqO-6GE3ncU">video</a> featuring LeAnne and Jess Dickerson, former pharmacy owners turned cannabis entrepreneurs.

Kim Kardashian is among the celebrities who own a Cybertruck, the electric pickup truck from Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) that <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-ratings/analyst-color/23/11/36032944/cybertruck-delivery-event-elon-musk-highlights-teslas-best-product-says-finally-the">began deliveries in November 2023.</a>
While some celebrities have used custom wraps for their Cybertrucks, Kardashian recently had her vehicle painted.
What Happened: The Cybertruck is delivered as a paintless vehicle due to its unique stainless steel exterior, something that Tesla CEO Elon Musk has<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/23/12/36104426/elon-musk-wanted-to-make-a-vehicle-for-the-future-one-that-blade-runner-would-drive"> praised as part of the design</a>.
"I specifically wanted to make something that looks like the future. What car would Blade Runner drive?" Musk previously said.
Musk has often spoken about the unique design and stainless steel frame, but doesn't seem to be opposed to customization by owners with various wraps.
One question will be how Musk feels about Kardashian having her Cybertruck painted.
Platinum Motorsport Group, a California custom vehicle tuner, highlighted the Cybertruck on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/platinum_group/?hl=en">Instagram</a>, as reported by <a href="https://electrek.co/2024/09/17/kim-kardashian-painted-tesla-cybertruck-dop-nope/">Electrek</a>.
"Yes, it's a satin metallic silver. We have came up with a special formula for her and all her vehicles are painted that color. There are similar wraps, but not quite this," Platinum Motorsport told a user who asked if the vehicle had a wrap.
What's unknown is if the vehicle in the images shared by Platinum is a Cybertruck previously owned by Kardashian, or if she got a new one. Kardashian <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/entertainment/24/02/37228943/kim-kardashian-flaunts-new-tesla-cybertruck-on-instagram-adding-to-her-fleet-of-luxury-vehi">previously showed off </a>her Cybertruck in February with a caption of "cool carpool mom."
Musk may approve of the futuristic looking silver color and Platinum's caption of "outta space type of sh%."
Kardashian has previously shown off her collection of high-end vehicles, all painted the same custom color on her social media accounts.
The images shared by Platinum of the Cybertruck show the body, trims and bumpers all painted the custom silver color. As Electrek notes, several of these painted items are black. Another change to Kardashian's Cybertruck is the 26" Forgiato Travis Scott forged wheels, which replace the base 20" wheels.

Jay-Z and Beyonce have a black matte wrap on their Cybertruck, which <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/entertainment/24/02/37406396/jay-z-beyonc-personalize-their-cybertruck-elon-musk-reacts">earned the one-word response </a>of "nice" from Musk on social media.
Musk likely doesn't care whether celebrities get wraps or paint their Cybertrucks, what he does care about is the electric pickup truck being a top seller in the sector and among vehicles in its price range.

Cabot Corporation Hit a 52 Week High, Can the Run Continue?

Victoria&#8217;s Secret &amp; Co. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/VSCO#NYSE">VSCO</a>) shares are trading higher on Wednesday. Barclays analyst Adrienne Yih upgraded Victoria&#8217;s Secret to Equal Weight from Underweight and <a target="_blank" href="https://benzinga.com/quote/VSCO/analyst-ratings" rel="noreferrer noopener">raised the price target to $25 from $23</a>.
The analyst writes that the company has moved past its most challenging period. Despite a significant loss of market share in recent years, VSCO still holds around 20% of the U.S. intimate market.
The analyst says that they are more positive about the company due to the new management team&#8217;s industry experience, the second-half of FY24 guidance surpassing consensus expectations, a return to core brand values with new product innovations, and an anticipated recovery in merchandise margins from improved sales-to-inventory in the fourth quarter of 2023.
However, Yih remained cautious about the company until they saw positive sales growth, increased market share, and new product launches.
The turnaround for Victoria&#8217;s Secret and PINK is still in progress, and the analyst expects more significant impacts from new leadership in 2025.
The analyst estimates adjusted EPS of $2.04, $2.31, and $2.54 for FY24, FY25, and FY26, respectively.
Last month, Victoria&#8217;s Secret reported second-quarter revenue that fell 1% Y/Y to $1.417 billion, beating the $1.41 billion estimate. Adjusted EPS of $0.40 <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/24/08/40626140/whats-going-on-with-lingerie-giant-victorias-secret-stock-today" rel="noreferrer noopener">beat the $0.36 consensus</a>.
For the&nbsp;third quarter, Victoria&#8217;s Secret expects&nbsp;net sales to increase in low-single digits&nbsp;Y/Y and adjusted loss per share of&nbsp;$0.60&nbsp;–<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/calendars/guidance" rel="noreferrer noopener"> $0.80&nbsp;vs.&nbsp;$0.65&nbsp;loss estimate</a>.

Badger Meter, Inc. Hit a 52 Week High, Can the Run Continue?

Entrepreneur and Bitcoin investor Lark Davis is wondering if history will repeat the pattern of 2020 when Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) surged at the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/money/bitcoin-price-prediction">end of the year</a>.
What Happened: Davis in his latest <a href="https://x.com/TheCryptoLark/status/1836432016193040793">post</a> indicated that interest rate cuts and elections could send Bitcoin parabolic in the upcoming 12 months. He predicts altcoins will follow suit only if quality projects are differentiated from "vaporware."
In another post, he marked that it has been 153 days since the Bitcoin halving. In 2020, Bitcoin moved sideways for 160 days post-halving before going parabolic. Davis added that "While history may not repeat itself, it often rhymes."
Among the factors, he <a href="https://x.com/TheCryptoLark/status/1836382195264393234">highlights</a> expected Fed rate cuts, the upcoming election, China &#8220;printing huge money,&#8221; spiking global liquidity, and the all-time highs of stablecoin valuation. All this is aligning for a "massive bull run."
Davis also <a href="https://x.com/TheCryptoLark/status/1836416161707143563">predicts</a> that whether a 25 basis points cut or a 50 basis points cut, the long-term outlook remains bullish and short-term volatility is expected.

Bitcoin Is In For A 'Massive Bull Run' If This 2020 Pattern Repeats, Analyst Says

Brazil's central bank will likely raise interest rates for the first time in two years due to a heated economy and an <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/economics/macro-economic-events/24/09/40919701/investors-betting-on-50-basis-point-rate-cut-expert-says-market-pressure-could-sw">above-target inflation outlook</a>.
In contrast, the U.S. central banking system just cut rates by a half percentage point Wednesday afternoon. 
Brazilian policymakers led by Roberto Campos Neto will lift the benchmark Selic by 25 basis points to 10.75% late on Wednesday, according to 31 of 35 economists in a Bloomberg <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-09-18/brazil-readies-interest-rate-hike-diverging-with-fed?srnd=phx-economics-v2&amp;sref=TBDibEcD">survey</a>.
Two economists are forecasting a higher increase of 50 basis points the other two expect the rate to stay the same.
Most traders are expecting a rise of 25 basis points, with digital options at the local stock market pricing in a 15% chance of a 50 basis-point hike.

&#8220;W expect the BCB to strike a delicate balance as it aims for a hawkish tone to curb inflation expectations, flexibility to adjust the rate path on new data and to push back on market pricing for aggressive hikes. Achieving all three is a tall task."
